About Jesus Salud

Jesus Salud (born May 3, 1963, in Sinait, Ilocos Sur), nicknamed “The Hawaiian Punch”, is a Filipino-born American boxer who made his mark in the super bantamweight division. Fighting out of Honolulu, Hawaii, Salud captured the WBA super bantamweight title in 1989 with a disqualification win over Juan José Estrada, though he was later stripped of the belt in 1990. Over a career spanning nearly two decades, he also won the NABF title four times, along with regional honors under the WBO and IBC. Known for his aggressive style and punching power, Salud compiled a professional record of 76 fights, 63 wins (38 KOs), and 13 losses, and even shared the ring with Manny Pacquiao in a 2002 exhibition bout.
