DETROIT. The Detroit Pistons won their fourth straight on Friday night by pounding the Chicago Bulls 107-88 at the Little Caesars Arena.
Reggie Jackson and Blake Griffin each had 20 points to lead the way for Detroit, which climbed to fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 12-7 record. Andre Drummond also had a stellar night, finishing with 19 points and 20 rebounds while Ish Smith contributed 12 points off the bench.
The Pistons jumped to a 34-21 first quarter advantage before leading by as many as 23 points.
Wendell Carter Jr notched a career-high 28 points for the Bulls, who dropped their fifth straight assignment. Chicago shot just 37 of 86 from the field (43 percent) and 3-of-21 from long distance (14.3 percent). The Bulls, who fell to a 5-18 record, were also out-rebounded, 52-40.
Jabari Parker registered 12 points and six rebounds for the visiting Bulls, but Zach LaVine struggled mightily on the floor with just eight points, missing nine of his 12 shots. He also had five turnovers.
Detroit aims for five straight victories when it hosts the defending champions Golden State Warriors on Saturday night. The slumping Bulls, meanwhile, travel to Houston in hopes of arresting their five-game losing skid.
