WBA super lightweight champion Alberto Puello reportedly failed a VADA drug test and his scheduled defense against Rolly Romero on Showtime on May 13 in Las Vegas has been cancelled.

Puello have tested positive for the banned substance clomiphene. Showtime still plans to go ahead with the broadcast as of now, possibly with Romero now facing WBA #1 Ismael Barroso for the vacant title should Puello be stripped.
