Unbeaten Mexican boxer Camila “La Magnífica” Zamorano, the WBC world champion, underwent a laparoscopic appendectomy on Friday, April 17, at Hospital San Jose in Sonora. The surgery was successful and without complications, according to a statement released by her promotional company.

Zamorano, 16, is the current WBC atomweight world champion.

Zamorano began her recovery process that same day, following medical instructions, so she can return to training soon.
