Undefeated Dominican prospect Feudri Franco (8-0, 7 KOs) kept his unbeaten record and rising career on track with a spectacular, dangerous knockout victory over the previously undefeated Haitian-Dominican Yunior Desir (7-1-1, 5 KOs). The welterweight bout took place on Friday, September 11, at the Carlos “Teo” Cruz Coliseum in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Both Franco and Desir entered the 147-pound contest as undefeated prospects.
Franco came out aggressively from the opening minute, landing powerful, dangerous blows on Desir and securing a devastating knockout just seconds before the end of the first round—though the fight could well have been stopped earlier. In a recent video, Desir appears to have suffered a jaw injury; the footage also shows Franco paying a personal visit to Desir’s home to show respect and concern for his rival's health following the brutal knockout.
Franco demonstrated his potential, skill, and solid training, firmly establishing himself as a rising star in Dominican boxing.
