Former OPBF welter champ Rev 'Gentle Giant" Santillan returns to action today in a non-title bout against Yoshiharu Ikeda at Tokyo's famed Korakuen Hall.

Santillan is using this bout as a stepping stone to yet another crack at his old OPBF title, which he lost to Motoki Sasaki in February.

The southpaw Ikeda, who at 6 feet is an inch taller than Santillan, has 10 wins with 6 losses, but is a certified banger with 8 knockout wins.

Santillan, the Iloilo City-raised fighter, is 24-4-1, 17 KO's.

Santillan is guaranteed a crack at Sasaki if he wins today, as his management team owns the option when Sasaki defeated Santillan.
