Manny Pacquiao?s adviser Michael Koncz who handles super flyweight Jerwin Ancajas under Pacquiao?s MP Promotions, is set to negotiate for an IBF title eliminator for the hard-hitting southpaw following his impressive 3rd round knockout victory over Fadhili Mjiha on the Pacquiao-Chris Algieri undercard in Macau last Sunday.
Koncz informed the Manila Standard/Viva Sports that when Ancajas met with Pacquiao and himself on Tuesday night, he promised to work to get him an IBF title eliminator, stating that Ancajas ?showed a lot of improvement in his last two fights? both of which were in Macau.
He has been trained by one of Pacquiao?s assistant trainers Nonoy Neri with Joven Jimenez taking over sometimes when Neri is busy working with Pacquiao.
In his previous fight at the Cotai Arena on February 22 this year, Ancajas also scored a 2nd round knockout over Thailand?s Inthanon Sithchamuang.
Aside from being a promising 22 year old with a record of 22-1-1 with 14 knockouts, Koncz said Ancajas is ?a very good, humble and dedicated fighter.?
The IBF champion is Zolani Tete of South Africa and while no fighter is rated No.1, McJoe Arroyo is ranked No. 2 and Filipino Arthur Villanueva is at No. 3 with Ancajas, the IBF Pan Pacific champion at No. 4.
