Solar Sports is set to announce this week, details of its planned multi-network telecast of the ?BATTLE FOR GREATNESS" between eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao and undefeated pound for pound No.1 Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In an announcement, Solar Sports said ?the highly anticipated matchup can be seen in the Philippines courtesy of Solar Sports, the longtime broadcast partner of Pacquiao?s fights.?

It said Solar Entertainment ?has reached a deal with the various media outlets as part of the company?s aim of bringing the fight closer to the people and reaching a wider audience.?

It went on to state that as a matter of fact ?it was Manny Pacquiao himself who stated that he wants to unify the Philippines leading broadcast networks with the help of his showdown against the undefeated American.?

Solar Sports executive Paolo Diaz declined to reveal who the TV partners would be although it is clear the leading networks are ABS-CBN and GMA 7 where the previous Pacquiao fights were telecast while also being beamed to the middle east primarily by The Filipino Channel of ABS-CBN.

Solar Sports began its agreement with Pacquiao and his business manager, the late Rod Nazario, prior to the November 15, 2003 fight against Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera at the Alamadome in San Antonio, Texas.

Prior to the move to Solar Sports, Pacquiao?s fights were telecast by Viva Sports.

These included his first world title when he scored a spectaculatn 8th round knockout of Thai hero Chatchai Sasakul on December 3, 1998 on the outskirts of Bangkok and his June 23, 2001 smashing 6th round TKO win over Lelohonolo Ledwaba at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
