Marcial.

His face battered, bruised and aching, gallant Filipino welterweight Eumir Felix Marcial battles Kazakhstan?s world champion and No.1 ranked Daniyar Yeleussinov in the finals of the ASBC Asian Boxing Champinships at the Thammasat University Stadium in Bangkok today.

Already assured of a spot in the Asian Boxing Championships in Doha, Qatar later this year, Marcial has vowed to fight to the death despite a series of some of the toughest fights in the 19 year old boxer?s career.

When he entered the 2012 London Olympic Games Yeleussinov was already showing his potential having made it to the quarter finals of the light welterweight division. Since then the Kazakh fighter moved up to welterweight and won the Asian men?s Elite Championships in Amman, making him both Asian and Continental and World champion at the age of 23.

Yeleussinov won a gold medal in the 2010 Asian Games and in the London Olympics he was voted "The Most Beautiful Boxer" by the European media.

But Marcial isn't awed by the reputation of Yeleussinov and has vowed to "fight to the death when he enters the ring at around 5:30 p.m. today.

The other Filipino finalist light flyweight Ladon is equally determined to battle to the end in his quest for gold although he too faces the No1 ranked fighter.

Ladon's bout will be around 4:00 p.m.
