A former Indonesian boxer, 44 year old Chasimeros has committed suicide by hanging. A report by Jeffrey Pamungkas of Fight News said Chasimeros who fought both as an amateur and as a professional had sent a letter to his wife and daughter apologizing for his action.

In the letter Chasimeros said he was too much in debt and couldn’t afford to pay. Chasimeros according to boxrec.com fought his last fight on August 6, 1988 when he lost a unanimous ten round decision to lightweight Herry Ariar who himself ended his pro career on October 25,1988 with a 4-0 record.

Earlier this year another Indonesian fighter, 32 year old featherweight Rachman Kili Kili Taliak also committed suicide by hanging. Rachman had a record of 6-2 with 3 knockouts including a fifth round KO over Filipino Pedrito Laurente on October 29, 2002. Laurente went on to win the OPBF super bantamweight defeating Japan’s Manabu Fukushima on August 16, 2003.

Rahman had earlier suffered a first round TKO at the hands of Diosdado Gabi on July 26, 2002 . Gabi later on fought but lost by an eighth round stoppage in an IBF flyweight title fight against hard-hitting champion Vic Darchinyan.
