While ALA Boy Czar Amonsot plans to leave for the US next week as he continues his training for his world title crack, a multitude of Boholanos led by Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Neri Lim have expressed their elation over Amonsot's career break.

"Am happy for him. It's a break of his lifetime," said Lim in an interview today, a statement which captures the joy of the Boholanos following the news which was first announced by Philboxing.com yesterday in a world exclusive.

Amonsot will challenge WBO lightweight king Michael Katsidis in a 12-round brawl on July 21 underneath the Bernard Hopkins-Winky Wright superbout dubbed 'Coming to Fight' promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Winky Promotions.

Amonsot will be accompanied in the trip next week by ALA Gym chief trainer Edito Villamor.

The Katsidis-Amonsot showdown will further strengthen an already solid card, which will also feature the WBC featherweight interim tiff between Oscar Larios and Venezuelan Jorge Linares.

"This card is about the best fighting the best," said Golden CEO Richard Schaefer at the May 5 press conference for the show held at Hollywood Theater of the MGM Grand.
