Britain?s WBO world lightweight champion Terry Flanagan demolished American Diego Magdaleno in two rounds at the Manchester Arena on Sunday, Manila Time to retain his title in spectacular fashion.
The undefeated southpaw Flanagan (29-0, 12 KO?s) sent Magdaleno (28-2, 12 KO?s) to the canvas three times in the second round before refereeTerry O? Connor stopped the massacre with Magdaleno being brutalized against the ropes.
The time was 2:38 of round two.
It was the 26 year old Flanagan?s first defense of the title he won by a TKO against Jose Zepeda last July.
BBC Sport reported that Flanagan stopped the 28 year old American in what was billed as the biggest test of his career.
He caught Magdaleno with a crunching left hook and finished him off with a flurry of punches.
