Long time Manny Pacquiao sparring partner Raymundo Beltran won by majority decision against Bryan Vasquez to successfully defend his NABF and WBO NABO lightweight titles over 10 rounds Saturday night at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Judges Jerry Cantu and Fernando Villareal had it 96-94 in Beltran's favor while Judge Steve Morrow had it 95-95 even.
Beltran, from Los Mochis, Mexico who now resides in Phoenix, Arizona, improved his record to 37 wins, 7 losses and 1 draw and positions himself for another shot at a world title. Vasquez, from San Jose, Costa Rica, dropped to 35-3-0.
