IBF Pan Pacific lightweight champion Ranee ?KO Kid? Ganoy avenged his previous defeat at the hands of Thailand?s Somchai Nakbalee with a smashing second round TKO at the Kedron Wavell Services Club in Brisbane, Australia tonight.

Ganoy, the only Filipino boxer who has won the respect of Australian fight fans with his aggressive style lost a six round decision to Nakbalee on June 9, 2004 and made good his promise to avenge that defeat in style.

The manager of Ganoy, Dido Bohol of Cebu told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that the awesome punching machine won his seventh straight fight after suffering a seventh round TKO at the hands of Michael Katsidis on August 19, 2005 when he accepted the fight on short notice and without sufficient training. But since then the popular lightweight has looked impressive with big wins over former Commonwealth champion Fatai Onikeke and former world title challenger Robbie Peden.

According to an excited Bohol, Ganoy hammered Nakbalee to the canvas twice in the second round with devastating punches after earlier opening up a cut over the Thai?s right eye. The end came at 1:17 of the second round. Ganoy improved his record to 24-10- 2 with 20 knockouts .

There are many who believe Ganoy, if properly trained, has the punching power to become a world champion since he hits hard with either hand. One of those who shares the view that Ganoy is a future world champion is Australia?s IBF representative Ray Wheatley and Tony Aldeguer of the famed ALA Gym in Cebu.
