Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach met and talked for a few minutes at Pacquiao's suite at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills Tuesday after the second stop of the Pacquiao-Broner press tour in Los Angeles. One of the most successful Boxer-Trainer tandem in the history of boxing, Pacquiao and Roach met for the first time since Pacquiao's loss to Jeff Horn in Brisbane July 2 last year. Roach was not in Pacquiao's corner during Pacquiao's comeback victory against Lucas Matthysse in Malaysia July 15 this year. Buboy Fernandez, Roach's long time assistant at Pacquiao's corner who took over as head coach during the Matthysse fight, and conditioning coach Justin Fortune, were reportedly against the idea of bringing back Roach for the Broner fight. If a picture paints a thousand words, the Pacquiao-Roach meeting appeared far from a happy reunion as both boxer's and trainer's smiles went out of the window. (Dong Secuya)
