A respected boxing writer and TV correspondent who is British but lives and works in Mexico sends his sympathies to the victims of typhoon Frank that has left a swath of death and destruction in the Philippines.

James Blears who was in Manila for the last World Boxing Council Convention and was so enamored with the Philippines that he promised to return for a holiday with his family said in an email to Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that ?some terrible weather images of your beautiful country have been appearing on the internet.?

Blears who also writes for the widely-read boxingscene.com said ?I hope and pray for the people on that ferry ( m/v Princess of the Stars) and all of those who have suffered during this typhoon.?

Blears said ?the people I met during my trip to your country are the most friendly and kind I?ve ever encountered anywhere on my travels and I hope you can get through this ordeal of Mother Nature. God bless you and everyone.?
