An extraordinary amateur tournament, “Green and Gold 2025,” endorsed by the WBC Amateur, took place with great success at the Jhon Píctor Blanco Coliseum in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, from September 10 to 13. More than 200 boxers from Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Venezuela, Paraguay, Peru, and Bolivia participated, turning Santa Cruz into a meeting point for international amateur boxing. The event also included technical clinics and talks.
Under the slogan “My blood is green, my heart is gold,” the event paid tribute to the colors of the legendary WBC belt, the greatest symbol of discipline, responsibility, excellence, and glory.
Hundreds of boxers gave their all in the ring alongside their coaches, families, and friends during an unforgettable week of boxing at one of the highest points in the world.
Mauricio Sulaimán, the Mexican president of the WBC, said: “This tournament goes beyond a competition and medals; it’s a message to this entire generation: that you can still dream big and build a career with sacrifice.”
The tournament was supported by the World Boxing Council, JF Boxing Society, Suerox Bolivia, the Bolivian Catholic University, the Government of Santa Cruz, the impressive Band of the Military Aviation School, the Departmental Boxing Association of Santa Cruz, and the Bolivian Boxing Federation.
