Boxing legend Mike Tyson was in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), on Saturday, October 18, to participate in the 50th anniversary celebrations of the legendary "Rumble in the Jungle" fight between heavyweight and boxing legends Muhammad Ali and George Foreman.
Tyson visited and held a press conference at the newly renamed Ali-Foreman Stadium (Tata Raphaël Stadium) during the celebration organized by DIVO International in conjunction with the Congolese government and the U.S. Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Tyson was nine years old when Ali and Foreman fought.
The anniversary celebrations will conclude on October 30, when the stadium's official renaming will finally take place, with several musical, cultural, and sporting events.
