The Argentine Boxer's House Mutual Association, presided over by WBC official Marcos Arienti, and the Argentina Boxing Hall of Fame Committee, chaired by legendary journalist Carlos Irusta, presented the induction ceremony for two Argentine boxing legends, Carlos Monzón and Juan Martín "Látigo" Coggi, on Saturday, November 8th, at their headquarters at Bartolomé Mitre 2020 in Buenos Aires. This was their second official induction ceremony.
Twenty-five experts from the Argentine boxing community voted to select two new members in the categories of HISTORICAL (professional career between 1923 and 1973) and MODERN (professional career since 1974).
Carlos Monzón, the tenacious world middleweight champion and one of the most important athletes in Argentina history, was ultimately inducted into the Historical category. His grandson, Agustín Monzón, accepted the certificate and honor on his behalf.
Juan Martín “Látigo” Coggi, the three-time super lightweight world champion, was inducted into the modern category.
