The PFL announced on Friday, March 6, the release of Cameroonian fighter Francis Ngannou after a relationship that began in 2023. The heavyweight ends his three-year tenure with the organization, during which he only competed once.
Francis Ngannou, 39, is now free to sign with any MMA organization. The Cameroonian, who was the UFC heavyweight champion from 2021 to 2023, finished his UFC contract in 2023.
Ngannou has not fought in either MMA or boxing since 2023 and has been seeking a fight against Jon Jones, who won the UFC heavyweight title after his departure, for years. However, UFC president Dana White has repeatedly ruled out this possibility.
