On the afternoon of Tuesday, March 24, the United States House of Representatives passed the Revitalization Act by voice vote in a legislative session. This bill, which seeks to create Unified Boxing Organizations (UBOs), was championed by Brian Jack, a Republican from Georgia and the bill's author.

The bill will now be sent to the Senate for review and approval, while President Donald Trump awaits its signature and release.

If the bill becomes law, the most significant change proposed by the Revitalization Act are:

Currently, the Ali Act mandates a separation between promoters and sanctioning bodies.

The Revitalization Act would allow UBOs to perform all the functions currently held by established sanctioning bodies, including rankings, championships, and regulations, although this law applies specifically to boxing.

The bill also mentions improved medical care for boxers, mandatory health exams, and the controversial proposal of a single championship per sanctioning body and weight class, in addition to a minimum payout of $200 per round.

It is still not definitively known whether the protections for boxers included in the two original laws of the Ali Act—the Professional Boxing Safety Act of 1996 and the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act of 2000—would be eliminated.

Although it is known that Dana White has been the main driving force behind modifying the Ali Act, amid growing fears that his company, Zuffa Boxing, seeks to organize, manage, and hold boxing events similar to the UFC, which controls the entire organization, rankings, and championships.

United Boxing Organizations (UBOs) would be exempt from the current compliance regulations for existing non-UBO organizations.
