WBC light flyweight champion Edgar Sosa of Mexico will defend his title for the sixth time against Filipino Juanito Rubillar on Sep. 27 in Mexico City according to reports from the Mexican press.
Sosa (32-5-0 17KOs) who captured the title on Apr. 14, 2007 against former world champion Fil-Am Brian Viloria, had successfully defended it five times the last one against Takashi Kunishige of Japan last month.
Rubillar (46-10-7 22KOs) has earned the mandatory right to challenge Sosa after he won by split decision over Mexican Omar Nino Romero in the undercard of the Sosa-Kunishige fight last month at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City.
