Former champ Iran Barkley Health Update

Former American three time world champion Iran Barkley, age 66, is currently hospitalized. He is suffering from spleen cancer—the organ has already been removed—and will undergo chemotherapy and, reportedly, treatment with a new cancer drug.

He is scheduled for surgery this Tuesday.

Barkley was a world champion in three weight classes, including the World Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight title, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) super middleweight title, and the World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight title.
