Undefeated AJ 'Bazooka' Banal and Panama's Rafael "El Torito" Concepcion will meet for the first time today at the final press conference before the duo duke it out for the WBA interim superflyweight championship this Saturday at the New Cebu Coliseum.
The official weigh-in takes place tomorrow at the SM Activity Center, a first in the history of Cebu boxing where a big mall hosts the event. Supervising the weigh-in are WBA officials led by ratings chief Oliver Gomez.
Also attending today's final press conference is ALA Boy Milan Milendo and Panama's Carlos Melo who will do battle for the WBA Intercontinental minimumweight title.
Also gracing today's event is ALA fighter Michael Domingo who will take on Indonesia's Rivo Rengkung for the vacant WBO Oriental bantam crown.
"Laban na Banal" is presented by ALA Promotions in cooperation with ABS-CBN, Golden Boy Promotions and the Cebu City government.
The other bouts set for the night pit James Bacon versus Vacharakit Senakarn; Jun Intor against Roldan Malinao; Robert Allanic versus Leonardo Doronio; and Hilario Canillas against Ramil Cabalan.
