CAGAYAN de Oro City ? It?s a gold rush for the Misamis Oriental fighters.

Misamis Oriental overwhelmed the competition as they won nine gold medals, five silvers and two bronzes ? with still 13 gold medal fights and six more boxers in the finals in the final day of action of the 2010 PLDT-Abap National Amateur Boxing Championships held here at the MisOr Provincial Capitol Garden.

Cotton-weight Carlo Paalam, Powder-weight Raphael Jalnaiz, Light

Mosquito weight Reynold Lao, Mosquito-weight Roberto Miguel Jalnaiz, Light Paper-weight Danniel Maamo, Jr. Boys flyweight Presco Carlos Sia, Pin-weight Samboy Lao, Bantamweight Freddie Basadre and Light-weight Darwin Tindahan won the gold medal for Misamis Oriental as the five-day competition concluded with a tremendous amount of success.

The other golden boys includes Roi Jake Fragata of Valencia City (Kiddie weight), Jiple Jay Cabrera of Davao del Norte (Vacuum-weight), Danrick Sumabong of Tagbilaran City (Ant-Weight), Mario Marin of Bago City (Minimum-weight), Kenneth Paul Gentallan of Tagbilaran City (Paper-weight), Rence Bryan Magarce of Davao del Norte (Light Pin-weight), Michael John Bajena of Davao del Norte (Pin-weight), Eumir Marcial of Zamboanga City (Light-flyweight), Jhack Tepora of Cebu City (Flyweight), John Vincent Moralde of Davao City (Light Bantamweight) and James Palicte of Bago City (featherweight).

Yesterday?s finals was attended by Abap president Ricky Vargas, Smart Sports Director Patrick Gregorio, former Abap president Manny Lopez and Gov. Oscar Moreno.

Misamis Oriental government then treated the guests and all

participants with a sumptuous dinner right after the awarding

ceremony.
