Denver ?The Excitement? Cuello Singwangcha had his final sparring session yesterday for his March 26 bout against Thai Samat Chaiyong. Promoter Aljoe Jaro informed Philboxing that Cuello now weighs 111 lbs or six pounds over the minimumweight limit. But he feels there will be no problem during the weigh-in as Cuello will continue his diet for the rest of the week.
Jaro also said that his boxer reached 140 rounds of sparring since he started heavy training two months ago. He has sparred with R.P. featherweight Edgar Gabejan,Jr, bantamweight Dondee Pumar,Jr and featherweight Jestoni Pepito.
Weigh-in will be this Friday 11 A.M at the Angono Plaza in Angono,Rizal. The event is open to the public. Samat is expected to arrive on March 23 and will be staying at the Maysha Hotel in Angono.
Fans are also in for an added treat as the boxers will have an open workout at the Jaro Boxing Gym in Binangonan, Rizal.
Cuello is in a must win situation. The reigning WBC International titlist is highly ranked in the 105 lb division and is nearing a world title shot. Jaro feels it will happen in June or July.
Cuello came close last year but was disqualified in his fight against Mexican Juan Hernandez in Mexico when he had his opponent already down. Denver is one of the hardest hitters in his weight category and fans can expect fireworks this Saturday March 26 at the Ynares gym in Angono, Rizal.
