Both former RP champions Johnny Lear and Federico 'Magnifico' Catubay took separate wins in Korea and Cagayan de Oro, decisioning their foes last Saturday over 10 rounds.

Lear, the former RP bantam champ now on the comeback trail, decisioned local boy Edmund Devilleres in their 10-round bout in Cagayan de Oro, keeping his unblemished mark to four wins since coming back from a one-year hiatus.

Catubay, who was stripped of his RP flyweight title early this year for his failure to defend the title on time, also prevailed on a unanimous decision over a Korean foe in Seoul, according to reliable sources.

Catubay knocked down his opponent in the second round en route to a rousing win, setting up yet another possible crack for the OPBF title, of which he is the mandatory challenger to OPBF 112-lb champ Noriyuki Komatsu.
