The World Boxing Council has threatened to suspend Zanfer Promotions if it pushes through with a scheduled February 25 fight in Ensenada, Mexico featuring former world champion Tomas "Gusano" Rojas.
The WBC had earlier suspended Rojas for his failure to attend a WBC hearing which wanted the fighter to explain his allegations made in the media that he had been offered money to lose a fight by knockout.
The fight Rojas referred to was against Mexican warrior Jorge "Travieso" Arce and the amount mentioned was $8,000.
The WBC has indicated the suspension of Rojas will remain in effect until he appears before the WBC.
The World Boxing Council in a statement issued today said that if the Rojas fight is confirmed, Promociones Zanfer will be also suspended by the WBC ?because of indiscipline in such a serious matter like a fraud that allegedly happened and that was released in the press.?
