PBA referee Jun Marake has paid a stiff price for his end-game foul call on Gabe Norwood on LA Tenorio in the dying minutes of an exciting ballgame between Rain Or Shine and Ginebra San Miguel at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last Sunday.

Norwood and the RoS bench led by coach Yeng Guiao protested the call to no avail.

PBA Commissioner Chito Salud suspended Marabe for three weeks upon review of the call made against Norwood.

Salud said Marabe was suspended because of "non observance of the game officials respective areas of jurisdiction to make a call and his disregard of the league's officiating guidelines on loose ball situations.

The PBA said that "as a result of the foregoing transgressions it is the finding of this Office that he (Marabe) grossly erred in judgment when he assessed that play of Norrwood on Tenorio to be a foul."

The pro league said referee Marabe was being suspended for a period of three weeks or a total of eleven gamedays.

Tenorio scored 5 of his 20 points in the last two minutes of the game allowing Ginebra to win 98-94 in an absorbing contest.
