Former heavyweight boxing champion Ken Norton (42-7-1, 33 KO?s) who once broke Muhammad Ali?s jaw and scored a twelve round victory on March 31, 1973 to win the heavyweight title, is improving after suffering a stroke last August.
He fought and lost to Ali in a rematch and also a third fight although there were many who thought Norton should have got the decision in their third encounter.
Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review Journal reported that the Hall of Fame boxer was continuing to make progress in a rehabilitation care facility following a stroke.
Norton?s wife Rose told Carp the 69 year old former champion is at the Veterans Administration facility in Boulder City, Nevada.
Ms. Norton was quoted as saying ?Ken is improving. He?s doing well and appreciates everyone?s concern and support.?
