Cirilo Espino won the vacant Philippine (GAB Version) featherweight title by unanimous decision against Adones Aguelo in a fight held Saturday at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology Gym in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.
Aguelo (18-7-1 with 11 KO?s) is from Maasin City and fights out of the Flores Boxing Gym of Mandaue City, while Espino (17-11-2 with 11 KO?s) hails from Sarangani and is now fighting out of Lipa City, Batangas. The previous holder of this title is Michael Farenas who campaigned abroad as a super featherweight last year.
