Anecito?Dondon? Gesta Jr, brother of former world title challenger Mercito ?No Mercy? Gesta has lost in his US debut at the Bing Crosby Hall in San Diego, California.

The 23 year old southpaw lost to last minute replacement Pablo Cupul by a majority decision after original opponent Kenny McClain failed to show up for the super featherweight four round bout.

Two judges, Alejandro Rochin and Sergio Caiz scored the bout for Cupul 39-37 while the third judge Tony Crebs had it an even 38-38.

Cupul, a Mexican who fights out of San Diego has a record of 7-11 with 4 knockouts while the 23 year old Gesta dropped to 2-2 with 0 knockouts after losing his last bout in Bogo, Cebu, hometown of the late Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde, by a 3rd round TKO to Honny Boy Vidal.
