ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer informed the Manila Standard that an agreement had been reached with the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN and top officials of Solaire Resort Hotel and Casino to stage the first title defense of WBO minimum weight champion Merlito "Tiger" Sabillo on July 13 at the plush venue of the growing Entertainment City along Manila Bay.

ALA Promotions vice president Dennis Canete and ABS-CBN vice president for Sports Peter Musngi finalized the agreement which would mark the first world title fight at Solaire.

Sabillo is undefeated and has a record of 21-0 with 11 knockouts and will face No. 6 ranked Jorlie Estrada of Colombia in a voluntary title defense.
