In a close split decision 10-round contest, Mexican fight girl Anabel "Avispa" Ortiz outpointed Etsuko Tada of Kyoto, Japan, to become the new WBA female minimumweight (105 lbs) world champion Tuesday night in Tokyo Japan.

The 27 year-old new world champion Anabel Ortiz of Tepic in Nayarit, Mexico, improved her record to 12 wins, 3 loses, with 2 wins by knockout; while Tada got her first defeat against 12 wins.

The Ortiz/Tada clash was the co-main event of the Koki Kameda-John Mark Apolinario WBA bantamweight world title fight.
