World Boxing Organization president Francisco ?Paco? Valcarcel has appointed all Puerto Rican officials in the showdown for the WBO super bantamweight title between former five division world champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire and Mexico?s Cesar Juarez on Saturday, Manila Time.
The referee will be Ramon Pena who officiated the September 26 WBO/WBA flyweight title fight between Juan Francisco Estrada and Hernan ?Tyson? Marquez last September 26.
The three judges named by Valcarcel who are all Puerto Ricans will be Nelson Vazquez who was a judge in the IBF super middleweight title bout between James De Gale and Lucian Bute last November 26; Jose Roberto Torres who was a judge in the November 7 six round clash between Giovanni Rivera and Jonell Nieves which Nieves won by a 2nd round TKO and Gerardo Martinez.
The trainer/father of Donaire, ?Dodong? Donaire told us after the weigh in that he had requested the Puerto Rican Boxing Commission to please appoint neutral Puerto Rican officials which they apparently acceded to.
