Juan Manuel Lopez.
WBO super bantamweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez ? Juanma ? claims that WBO bantamweight champion Gerry Pe?alosa priced himself out of a fight on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar De La Hoya ?Dream Match? at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on December 6.
Mark Vester of boxingscene.com said Lopez claimed Pe?alosa was overpricing himself by demanding $250,000 for the fight which is an amount of money rarely paid these days to boxers taking part in pay-per-view undercard fights.
Lopez will instead be probably matched against Sergio Medina (33-1, 18 KO?s) of Argentina on the card. Medina?s only loss was by a ten round decision to WBO No.1 super bantamweight Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista.
Reacting to Pe?alosa?s dare to Lopez come out of hiding and fight him, Lopez said ?if I wanted to fight him tomorrow, I have no doubt that I would knock him out.?
Lopez said that the circle of possible opponents was getting smaller and he would likely move up to featherweight next year.
