Mexican warrior Jorge ?Travieso? Arce, a possible future opponent of Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire retained his WBC super flyweight interim title with a 4th round TKO over former WBO champion Isidro Garcia.
The fight was on the same card as the Donaire-Moruti Mthalane IBF flyweight championship bout which Donaire won by a 6th round TKO when Mthalane was cut inside the left eye and referee Joe Cortez on the advice of the ring physician called a halt.
Arce dropped Garcia with a vicious body shot sending the challenger down on one knee in the fourth round before Arce launched a brutal assault nailing Garcia with a series of hard shots that forced referee Tony Weeks to stop the massacre at 0:48 of the round.
Arce improved to 51-4-1, 38 knockouts while Garcia fell to 25-6-2 with 8 knockouts.
