The pride of General Santos City, "Magic" Mike Plania, returned in spectacular fashion, stopping veteran Mexican Luis "El Duro" May in less than three minutes on August 15 at the Miccosukee Indian Gaming Resort in Miami, Florida, USA.
From the opening bell, the younger, sharper Plania took charge, stalking the 42-year-old May and hurting him repeatedly with heavy left hands to the head and body.
The Filipino’s relentless pressure forced the journeyman Luis "El Duro" May (23-24, 8 KOs) backward, visibly shaken by the Pinoy power.
Then a devastating long left hook to the body sent "El Duro" May crashing to his knees. He could not recover in time, and the Puerto Rican referee waved the fight off.
With this non-title victory, "Magic" Mike (32-5, 18 KOs) is back in the winning column, setting his sights on more success in the 130-pound division on American soil.
The show in beautiful Miami was promoted by Laura Ching of Moros Gym’s M&R Boxing Promotions.
Congratulations, Magic Mike! Laban Pinoy! 👍
