Manila Mayor Fred Lim will once again provide Manilans with a chance to watch “The Event” featuring WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and former champion Joshua Clottey in several venues in the city.

Lim wants to make sure that Pacquiao who is an adopted son of Manila receives the moral support of the city residents and that they cheer for the national boxing icon.

The fight will be telecast “live” on giant screens that will be installed at the Tondo Sports Complex in District 1; Patricia Sports Complex in District 2; RASAC Covered court in District 3; Dapitan Sports Complex in District 4; San Andres Sports Complex in District 5 and Sarmiento Covered Court in District 6.

Mayor Lim who has done this in the past said Pacquiao has brought honor to our country and all our people are interested to watch the fight and see Manny win again.

Ghana’s pride Clottey came from a split decision lost against Miguel Cotto whom Pacquiao demolished in the very last round.

Lim said he is very optimistic about the Filipino ring icon’s victory against Clottey in their title match, adding that “I am certain as the son shines brightly, Pacquiao will win.”.

Meamtime at his media workout at the Wild Card Gym where Pacquiao reportedly showed up late he went through the usual routine and granted as many interviews as possible.

He also took the chance to pull out a giant poster of Sen. Manny Villar, the presidential candidate he has strongly endorsed saying just like him Villar came from the ranks of the poor and through hard work and discipline overcame his poverty and emerged a rich man.

However, Dr. Ed De La Vega reported that while some of the big names in media were present “what was surprising however, was there were less media people in this event compared to those that came to run elbows and ask questions when Pacquiao fought Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya.”

Pacquiao hit a high note when he appeared once again on the hugely popular late night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC and was cheered wildly by the studio audience as he walked in with the fans chanting “Manny! Manny!Manny!”

He sang the popular George Benson song “Nothings gonna change my love for you” as the studio audience kept in touch swaying to the music and enjoying every moment of it just as Manny did, as always.
