The World Boxing Council says the case involving the behavior of former world flyweight champion Koki Kameda?s father after the Japanese fighter lost in a title defense against interim champion Pongsaklek Wonjongkam of Thailand last March 27 in Tokyo will be handled by the WBC Disciplinary Committee.

The WBC said a hearing has been scheduled for April 12-13 involving the chairman of the WBC Disciplinary Committee and Shiro Kameda, the father of the former champion, in Mexico City.

In a statement the WBC noted that its representatives at the fight reported the ?aggressive behavior by Mr. Shiro Kameda after the fight directly against the WBC representative as well as against the Japan Boxing Commission? even as it noted that it ?almost became physical, which the WBC regrets and strongly disapproves of.?

The WBC said such actions ?infringe on the policies and rules of the organization in regard to acts that damage the image of the sport of boxing as well as that of the Japan Boxing Commission and the World Boxing Council.? It said those who act to tarnish its image ? must be brought into the scrutiny of the rules of boxing.?

The WBC announced that ?this case will be sent to the WBC Disciplinary Committee for its review and corresponding actions.?

It said the WBC fully supports all the officers working in that fight for doing a very good job and ex tends its strongest support to the Japan Boxing Commission and wi/ll fully support any action in takes on the case of Shiro Kameda.

The leading world boxing body said it had reviewed all reports from the WBC representatives as well as officials with regard to the fight between Koki Kameda of Japan, and Pongsaklek Hongtongkam of Thailand and ?confirms as unquestionable the victory of Pongsaklek, now the undisputed WBC flyweight champion of the world.?
