One of Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao’s victims, Thailand’s Fahsan 3K Battery who was demolished in a fourth round TKO on December 11, 2004 gets a crack at the IBF super bantamweight champion Steve "The Canadian Kid" Molitor in Toronto, Canada on October 27.
Pacquiao, who didn’t train seriously for the Fahsan fight, which was an IBF featherweight title eliminator, ended the mismatch with a vicious uppercut that lifted the Thai off his feet before some 30,000 wildly cheering fans at The Fort in Taguig City.
Since then Fahsan has won fourteen straight, twelve against Filipinos with eleven by KO or TKO and has improved his record to 58-8-1 with 35 knockouts with his only KO loss being to Pacquiao.
Molitor is undefeated in 24 fights with 10 knockouts. He is 27 years old compared to Fahsan who is 33.
Molitor won the IBF title with a fifth round stoppage of Michael Hunter and followed it up with a successful title defense against Takalani Ndlovu whom he knocked out in the ninth round last July 14 in Ontario, Canada.
Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that Fahsan was "a tough little guy" and he wished him all the best in his title bid.
