Two more Filipino boxers have been beaten in Thailand bringing to eight the number of fighters who have lost against their Thai opponents in the past couple of weeks.
WBO Youth Interim champion Amor Tino was knocked out in the fifth round by WBC No. 4 featherweight Chonlatarn Or Piriyapinyo in an Asian Boxing Council title fight in Chiyaphum province.
Tino did well in the opening rounds counter-punching effectively but Chonlatarn pursued Tino aggressively in the third round and dropped him with a hard left. The Thai champion then pressed the attack and caught Tino with several vicious combinations and finally nailed him with a cracking right hook for the full count at 2:55 of round five.
Chonlartarn improved to 23-0 with 14 knockouts while Tino dropped to 9-4-1 with one recorded KO.
In another bout where a world rated Thai was matched against an unranked Filipino, flyweight Denkaosan Singwancha who is ranked No. 2 by the WBA and No. 9 by the WBC and fought for the WBA world title twice, scored a six round shutout against the Philippines Ariel Austria who reportedly had 27 losses against only 15 wins and 7 draws.
In the fight which was held at the Huamark Indoor Stadium in Bangkok, Denkaosan proved far too good for Austria and dominated every round with Austria on the verge of being knocked out many times. Denkaosan moved up to 41-1-1 with 16 knockouts.
